Introducing ‘Tetra’; the world’s first multi-environmental drone. Taking exploration to new heights (and depths), this wireless FPV drone can reconfigure its fuselage from quadcopter to plane and even to a submarine!

 

The Tetra drone not only enables faster forward motion in the air but also underwater too, without the limits of tethers and ground stations. When submerged the Tetra drone can still maintain its FPV link to the surface thanks to clever engineering that allows you to explore and capture high resolution images. Once you are done underwater simply revert back to the quadcopter configuration to lift off out and back into the air.

But why Tetra?

Well, as our concept is intended to function above, on and below bodies of water it could be decribed as amphibious. We researched into keywords and images of amphibious creatures to help us come up with a short, memorable and relevant brand name.

After researching we came across a certain word - Tetrapoda. Now Tetrapoda is a superclass of many creatures including amphibians that are similarly called Tetrapods. These animals have four limbs or had ancestors that did, and some are able to survive above and below water, much like our drone concept.

We simply snipped the 'poda' off of 'Tetrapoda' and voila! Tetra was born.
